Interesting

I like the use of the amen, it gives the song a very good beat and progresses nicely. My few complaints would be that the amen sounds sort of dull, nothing really special to back it up... if you layer some other stuff over it, like a harder snare or kick, it might sound pretty cool. The melody gets a little annoying at some times, that switch between sharp/flat notes and naturals, it's just a little awkward.

Still, i like it! Definitely did a good job. 8/10 and 4/5.

TheBreeD responds:

Well there are some flaws I cannot fix, as for the layering though: I will definitely be adding a kick and some various effects to try and lessen the feel of that repetition. I'm stuck with just the mp3 due to HDD loss a while back. My main focus is the current album I am producing under the name "Logical Defiance." You probably know me from rithum.com. Anyways thanks for the constructive review. Cheers.

Whoa!

I love me a good house track. And what really wins me over is the uptempo but ambient house tracks, like a club or something. This is really nice, a lot of good points. The bass is excellent, it is very tough to get a good bass for a house song. The percussion is good too, very light but still carries the song along. I like the main melody that is present, it sort of slides around and sounds pretty sweet!

The whole song is just crazy good man! 10/10 and 5/5, for sure!

durn responds:

:) thanks man, the bass riff is actually something I came up with an octave higher on the wurlitzer. when I transposed everything in reason I was shifting through organ patches, trying to find one that accurately represented it and accidentally went to an alternate patch folder and ended up on a muted bass patch that just... well... fit. :) glad you thought the result was a smash. :D

Decent

Betterthat I expected, for having no tutorials or anything. You have a bit too much compression and distortion on that main lead, and it's very harsh on the ears. The clap is really harsh too, not sure if there is distorition intentionally put on that.

Not bad, but you can definitely improve. Get a good bassline, lower the lead melody, and add some other percussion stuff!

5/10 and 3/5.

RickyWB responds:

Yeah I know it hurts the ears. I was trying to edit the effects for one pattern but I guess it was master.

Wonderful.

In comparison to the many remixs of this song that I have heard, this is one of the good ones. Reminds me of a very deep and serene jungle, and it's been forever since I've played Zelda, and i don't really remember which area had this music, but that's how it sounds. It's very ambient, very spacey. Very nice job!

10/10 and 5/5.

Tysuru responds:

Im a huge fan of this song, so I wanted to make it good.
But alas, I took as calm eerie approach to it. Kinda reminded me of being in the song of time and just reflecting on everything that you go through in the game. It is by far one of the favorite games. =]

Thank you very much for the review

Interesting flavor...

This is really cool man! I like how slippery that main lead is, it's a sytrus preset, if i remember (been forever since i've used it, correct me if i'm wrong!) The lead on the synth is great, very slippery (still using that word) and very smooth and melodic. The drums are also good, very nicely compressed, not too over-powering, nice and ambient. The bass is good as well, though at times when it hits lower notes, it sounds pretty awkward.

Nice work! 8/10 and 4/5.

Syntrus responds:

ITs a korg Kaossilator lead no sytrus in this song I haven't used sytrus in years.

Interesting

This was pretty neat, I like the dark feeling of it. Very Lo-Fi, and everything flows in somewhat of a good pattern. My few complaints would be the fact that it sounds a little too fuzzy. The song is mostly based on the low end, nothing really higher up to counteract it, and if there is, it isn't terribly loud.
It really does sound like an invasion of sorts though, so you accomplished that! :D

Good work, but it could use a few improvements.
7/10 and 3/5.

Syntrus responds:

I'm trying to get that live sound. Its supposed to be a bit fuzzy. I was experimenting. again.

Wow.

This is insane, truly! Reminds me quite a bit of M83, just with vocals.

Anyway, this is very nice. The piano is great, and being a pianist myself, I can appreciate piano work like this. The synth work and percussion are both good as well, very excellently performed and written!

You did very well, definitely worthy of the top 5.
10/10 and 5/5, from me. Congrats. :)

fishfood2021 responds:

Thanks homie! Great confidence boost :)

Cool!

It's strangely relaxing. It's got a real jungle tribe like feel to it, you know? Sounds almost like something from a medieval village.

I like all the sitars. They're very nicely done, and the melodies on them are very good! I can almsot hear something that sounds like sorohanro's lamp samples, but I could be wrong.

This is really cool! Nice work. :)
10/10 and 5/5. ^_^

SolusLunes responds:

They might happen to be in there, heavily processed!

Good catch, sir!

Halloween? :P

Sounds like some scary halloween theme. This definitely has a spooky industrial feel to it. I like the really grungy stuff, even though it might have a bit too much compression on the over all mix. The distortion is kinda heavy too, this is more of the darker side of industrial. It's still very good though, you've got some real talent here!

9/10 and 5/5. Nice!

(btw, that pad around 1:10 is very nice too!)

culmor30 responds:

Cool, glad you liked it. Listening to it again, I agree with you on there being too much compression. I don't think I'll fix it for this track though, I'll just keep that in mind when making my next industrial song.

Thanks for the review :]

Cool!

Reminds me of a clock-like setting, where everything is controlled by time-manipulation and the like. The total ambiance of the is great, from that awesome synth lead to the nice smooth pads. The drums are also nice, but the clicky hat (?) gets somewhat annoying after a while. Still, it's good, and it fits nicely! Reminds me somewhat of Easily Embarrassed, this is very good man! Keep up this experimental stuff. :)

10/10 and 5/5. Good job!

MarshmallowGherkin responds:

Thank you very much for the review :)

Yeah the nearly unceasing clicking gets a bit annoying after a while, but I wanted to stick to a clock-like sound, and clocks tend to get annoying after a while. I was just hoping it would add to the song instead of detract from it. Hopefully I succeeded.

Whatever you see here is.. well, mind blowing. Contact me at: dgm.kaizerwolf@gmail .com
